Dhauvaa
''Dhauvaa'' is a 1998 Maldivian film directed by Arifa Ibrahim. Produced by Aslam Rasheed under Slam Studio, the film stars Reeko Moosa Manik, Niuma Mohamed and Waleedha Waleed in pivotal roles. The film was an unofficial remake of Deepak Sareen's Bollywood film '' Aaina'' (1993), starring Juhi Chawla, Jackie Shroff and Amrita Singh in lead roles. Premise Soma Hassan ( Waleedha Waleed) and Seema Hassan (Niuma Mohamed) are two siblings who have grown up to be entirely different to each other. The former is an arrogant, spoiled child who gets everything she desires at any cost while the latter is a soft-spoken, sensitive shy girl who lets her sister take the limelight. Easa Shareef
Easa Shareef is a Maldivian film director, actor, screen-writer, editor and lyricist. Career In 1993, Shareef collaborated with Yoosuf Rafeeu for his tragedy drama film ''Vaudhu'' (1993) which narrates the separation of a happy couple due to the societal differences. The following year, he directed and starred in the critically acclaimed film '' Zakham'' (1994) where he played the supportive brother of a young girl who has been forced to marry out of her will. Arifa Ibrahim
Arifa Ibrahim (born 22 June 1955) is a Maldivian actress, producer, director and writer. Early life Daughter of late Ibrahim Fulhu and late Fathma Fulhu, Arifa Ibrahim was born on 22 June 1955. She got married at the age of fourteen and is blessed with five daughters and one son. During her early life, Arifa was famous for stencil designing. Ibrahim Wisan
Ibrahim Wisan (born 27 February 1977), nicknamed as Kandi is a Maldivian cinematographer, actor and director. Career In 1996, Wisan starred in Mohamed Rasheed's '' Hifehettumeh Neiy Karuna'' opposite Niuma Mohamed, Abdul Raheem and Arifa Ibrahim. Niuma Mohamed
Niuma Mohamed (pronounced ; 20 October 1977) is a Maldivian film actress, director, and producer. The highest-paid actress in Maldives, Mohamed is the recipient of several awards, including two Gaumee Film Awards, and four Maldives Film Awards. Waleedha Waleed is a Maldivian film actress, choreographer, director, seamstress and politician. Career In 1989, at the age of fourteen, Waleedha Waleed made her screen debut with a video single directed by Musthafa Hussain. She went on to feature in several other video songs and films. Ali Shameel is a Maldivian film actor and director. Roanu Hassan Manik is a widely acclaimed Maldivian film actor, who mainly works in the Maldivian film industry. Early life On 11 November 1977, while working as a Headmaster at educational centre, Manik produced, choreographed and starred in a theatre play, ''Vamundhaa Goiyy'' alongside his students which narrates the discrimination of locals moving from atolls to Male'.
