Dexter is a city in Mower County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 324 at the 2020 census. History Dexter was platted in 1874 and named for Dexter Parrit, an early settler. A post office has been in operation at Dexter since 1874. Dexter was incorporated in 1878. Geography Dexter is in central Mower County, east of Austin, the county seat, and southwest of Rochester. It lies within Dexter Township and to the east of Grand Meadow Township. It is served by Interstate 90, State Highway 16 ( MN 16), and Mower County Roads 2 and 7. Dexter High School (DHS) is a public high school located in Scio Township, Michigan, with a Dexter postal address, serving grades 9-12. Melanie Nowak is the school's current principal. Dexter High School is one of only two schools in the United States with a dreadnaught as a mascot, the other being Lakeland Senior High School in Florida. Dexter Reservoir
Dexter Reservoir (also known as Dexter Lake) is a reservoir in Lane County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is about southeast of Eugene on the Middle Fork Willamette River, immediately downriver from Lookout Point Lake, another reservoir. The communities of Dexter and Lowell are near the lake. Oregon Route 58 follows the lake's southern shore, while Pengra Road parallels the lake's northern shore as far east as Lowell. Dexter Dam, high, impounds up to of water in the reservoir. Dexter Marsh is a marsh located at the eastern end of Lake Ontario in Dexter, New York. It was declared a National Natural Landmark in May 1973. The marsh is managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation as the Dexter Marsh Wildlife Management Area.
