Dewi Llwyd
Dewi Llwyd (born 1954) is a Welsh journalist and television presenter who is best known for his work for S4C. He presented the Welsh-language news programme ''Newyddion'' until the end of 2012, and Pawb a'i Farn until the end of 2019. Llwyd currently presents two radio programmes on BBC Radio Cymru. Biography Early life He was born Dewi Llwyd Williams in 1954. Llwyd is the son of the Rev. Ivor Ll. Williams, a Baptist minister and Mary. He grew up in Deiniolen and Morriston before his family settled in Bangor, Gwynedd before he reached the age of six. He went to St Pauls Primary School, before attending Friars School. Llwyd went to study at Cardiff University; he further studied in London, and later went to an education facility in Washington, D.C. He later spent time in education in France and Spain. Bangor (; ) is a cathedral city and community in Gwynedd, North Wales. It is the oldest city in Wales. Morriston
Morriston (; cy, Treforys ) is a community in the City and County of Swansea, Wales and falls within the Morriston ward. It is the largest community in Swansea county. Morriston is sometimes referred to as a distinct town (e.g. the local football club is named Morriston Town A.F.C.), however it has never had a town charter, and is now part of the continuous urban sprawl around Swansea, the centre of which lies three miles to the south-west. The 2019 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday, 12 December 2019. It resulted in the Conservative Party receiving a landslide majority of 80 seats. The Conservatives made a net gain of 48 seats and won 43.6% of the popular vote – the highest percentage for any party since 1979. History 1557 Establishment The school was founded by Geoffrey Glyn who had been brought up in Anglesey and had followed a career in law in London. A friary had been established in Bangor by the Dominican Order, or Black Friars, in the 13th century. At the dissolution of the monasteries, the friary was wound up in 1538. Geoffrey Glyn bought the site with a view to establishing a grammar school. In his will dated 8 July 1557, he left the property and endowments towards establishing the school. Geoffrey's will left the property to his brother William Glyn, Bishop of Bangor and Maurice Griffith, Bishop of Rochester, for them to execute his wishes. Deiniolen
Deiniolen (; ; ) is a village in Gwynedd, Wales, at the foot of Elidir Fawr, in Llanddeiniolen Community. Deiniolen has views over Caernarfon (7 miles away) and on a clear day, Holyhead Mountain and occasionally the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland, can be seen. The population of the electoral ward was 1,909 as of 2011, including nearby Dinorwig, with 81.2% of the population speaking Welsh. The community, Llanddeiniolen, has a population of 5,072 as of the 2011 census, the third-largest in Gwynedd. Ysgol Gynradd Gwaun Gynfi provides Welsh-medium education for children between 3 and 11 years in the village. BBC Radio Cymru
BBC Radio Cymru is a Welsh language radio network owned and operated by BBC Cymru Wales, a division of the BBC. It broadcasts on two stations across Wales on FM, DAB, digital TV and online. The main network broadcasts for hours a day from 5:30am to midnight with overnight programming simulcast from the BBC World Service after closedown.
