''Dewaar'' (Urdu: دیوار, literal English translation: "wall") is the seventh studio album and the thirteenth overall album of the Pakistani band, Junoon released in 2003. This was the last studio album released by the band after which both vocalist, Ali Azmat and bassist, Brian O'Connell, left the band. The single "Garaj Baras", from the album, was selected as part of a Bollywood movie soundtrack in 2003 for the film "Paap" directed by Pooja Bhatt. The song topped the charts again in the country in 2004 and their controversial single "Pappu Yaar" shot to the #1 spot in Pakistan. Junoon ( ) is a Pakistani sufi rock band from Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, and Tappan, New York, formed in 1990. "Ghoom Taana" ( ) is a song by Pakistani sufi rock band Junoon. It was released as the fifth and final single from their seventh full-length studio album, ''Dewaar''. The single also featured in Salman Ahmad's debut solo album, ''Infiniti''. The song was originally sung jointly by Ali Noor, vocalist of Noori, and Ali Azmat. However, the duet sung with Shubha Mudgal featured only Salman Ahmad for the male vocals. Brian O'Connell (musician)
Brian O'Connell is an American multi- instrumentalist, composer, arranger, record producer and actor. He is the bassist and producer for Pakistani sufi rock band Junoon. O'Connell and Salman Ahmad were friends of one another since high school. O'Connell joined Junoon when keyboardist, Nusrat Hussain, left the band and Salman Ahmad contacted and invited him to play bass on the band's second album, '' Talaash''. He is known for harmonizing the western 5-string bass riffs with the traditional tabla and drums. After the release of the band's seventh studio album, ''Dewaar'', O'Connell went back to his native land the United States. ''Daur-e-Junoon'' ( ur, دورے جنون, literal English translation: "the era of junoon") is the second live album and overall the twelfth album released by the Pakistani rock band, Junoon. The album was released on March 29, 2002. The album consists of all the major live performances by the band and contains a new version of the 1990s hit, "Jazba-e-Junoon" and also the soundtrack, "Garaj Baras", of the bollywood movie ''Paap'' from their forthcoming album "Dewaar" by then. The name of the album came to Junoon's manager, Shehryar Ahmad. Ali Azmat
Ali Azmat Butt (born 20 April 1970) is a Pakistani singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He is best known as the lead singer for the influential Sufi Rock band Junoon and for his subsequent solo career. In 2001, he became part of the first Pakistani band (Junoon) ever to perform at the United Nations General Assembly. Early life Ali Azmat was born in Havelian, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where his grandfather was posted as station master of Havelian Railway Station, while he grew up in Garhi Shahu, Lahore, into a family of ethnic Kashmiri descent and speaks Punjabi as his native language. His father, Nazir Ahmed Butt, was a middle-class businessman, who died in 2013. He went to Sydney, Australia, for his higher studies, but soon returned to Pakistan before completing university. Jay Dittamo (born May 30, 1959) is an American drummer, percussionist, music composer and record producer. He has played with acts such as Junoon, Banned From Utopia, Willie Colón, Jimmy Webb, Chuck Berry, The Duprees, The Crests, The Marvellets, Bucky Pizzarelli, and Gloria Lynne. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family.
