Devon League 2
Devon League 2 (also known as Devon League 2 for sponsorship reasons) was an English level ten rugby union league for clubs based in Devon; with one exception (St Columba and Torpoint RFC is based in Torpoint, Cornwall and have always played in Plymouth Combination competitions). The champions and runners-up are promoted to Devon League 1, and since the cancellation of Devon League 3 in 2003 there was no relegation as this is the lowest division in club rugby union within Devon. The league was cancelled at the end of the 2017-18 season, with teams being either promoted into Devon League 1 or transferred into the Devon Merit Leagues. Format The season runs from September to April and comprises twenty-six rounds of matches, with each club playing each of its rivals, home and away. Devonport High School For Boys
Devonport High School for Boys is a grammar school and academy, for boys aged 11 to 18, in Plymouth, Devon, England. It has around 1,135 pupils. Its catchment area includes southwest Devon and southeast Cornwall as well as Plymouth. Pupils are accepted on the basis of academic aptitude. School history The school was founded by Alonzo Rider on Albert Road, Stoke, Devonport, on 16 January 1896 to meet the needs of boys in Devonport and the surrounding area who sought a career in the Royal Navy, as engineers and civil servants. In 1906, the Devonport Borough Council took over the school and over the next thirty years it continued to teach boys who came from the city or in by train from the Tamar Valley and Cornwall. Ernesettle is mentioned in the Domesday Book, which documented land in England and Wales, and describes as an ‘old Saxon manor’ there. By the 15th century, there were two farms, Great Ernesettle and Little Ernesettle, both named after William Ernstell, a freeholder of Budshead, who owned land here in 1428. Great Torrington (often abbreviated to Torrington, though the villages of Little Torrington and Black Torrington are situated in the same region) is a market town in Devon, England. Dartmouth () is a town and civil parish in the English county of Devon. It is a tourist destination set on the western bank of the estuary of the River Dart, which is a long narrow tidal ria that runs inland as far as Totnes. Salcombe is a popular resort town in the South Hams district of Devon, south west England. The town is close to the mouth of the Kingsbridge Estuary, mostly built on the steep west side of the estuary. It lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
