Devil's Peak Brewing Company is a South African brewery located at the base of Devil's Peak mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. Products Founders series The Kings Blockhouse IPA, named after a military blockhouse on Devils Peak, is the flagship IPA from Devils Peak Brewing Company. It is a hoppy, bitter and moderately strong India pale ale. Devil's Peak (Cape Town)
Devil's Peak is part of the mountainous backdrop to Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa. When looking at Table Mountain from the city centre, or when looking towards the city across Table Bay, the skyline from left to right consists of Devil's Peak, the flat summit of Table Mountain, the peak of Lion's Head (Cape Town), Lion's Head, and Signal Hill (Cape Town), Signal Hill. Woodhead Dam
Woodhead Dam is a dam on Table Mountain, Western Cape, South Africa. It was built in 1897 and supplies water to Cape Town. The dam, which was the first large masonry dam in South Africa, was designated as an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2008. History In 1870, the growth of Cape Town led to shortages of drinking water. It was decided to build a reservoir on Table Mountain to provide water to the city. Scottish hydraulic engineer Thomas Stewart was engaged to design and build the reservoir. The Woodhead Tunnel was built between 1888 and 1891. It was used to divert the Disa Stream, a tributary of the Hout Bay River, westward to provide water for the reservoir. ''Leucadendron argenteum'' (silver tree, silver leaf tree, , or ) is an endangered plant species in the family Proteaceae, which is endemic to a small area of the Cape Peninsula, South Africa.
