Development Film Festival
The Development Film Festival in India is a platform for film makers to showcase their works on themes concerning the development of the poor and vulnerable communities. The Centre for Development Communication of DHAN Foundation organises the festival. The festival is organised every year on a theme in development. Inception and growth of the festival The past four festivals were organised at Madurai, the city known as a seat of learning since the Sangam period, Sangam periods dating back to 4th century B.C, The first festival focused on poverty, from the perspective of water, environment, gender, education, health and culture. Sangam Period
The Sangam literature ( Tamil: சங்க இலக்கியம், ''caṅka ilakkiyam''), historically known as 'the poetry of the noble ones' ( Tamil: சான்றோர் செய்யுள், ''Cāṉṟōr ceyyuḷ''), connotes the early classical Tamil literature and is the earliest known literature of South India. Short Film
A short film is a film with a low running time. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of not more than 40 minutes including all credits". Animation is a filmmaking technique whereby still images are manipulated to create moving images. In traditional animation, images are drawn or painted by hand on transparent celluloid sheets to be photographed and exhibited on film.
