Detroit Newspaper Strike Of 1995–1997
The Detroit Newspaper Strike was a major labor dispute which began in Detroit, Michigan on July 13, 1995, and involved several actions including a local boycott, corporate campaign, and legal charges of unfair labor practices. A sit-down strike (or simply sitdown) is a labour strike and a form of civil disobedience in which an organized group of workers, usually employed at factories or other centralized locations, take unauthorized or illegal possession of the workplace by "sitting down" at their stations.
