Detlef Uhlemann
Detlef Hugo Otto Uhlemann (born 24 September 1949) is a German former long-distance runner who competed for West Germany. Born in the Altenessen district of the city of Essen, he represented his country at the 1976 Summer Olympics, being a finalist in the 5000 metres. He was a member of the LG Bonn/Troisdorf athletics club during his career. The greatest success of his international career came in cross country running. He was a six-time participant at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships and was a bronze medallist at the 1977 edition (held in his native West Germany) – he was the first German to reach the podium and alongside 1980 medallist Hans-Jürgen Orthmann remains one of only two German senior medallists at the competition. He also ranked in the top five at the 1974 and 1976 editions. A global title came when he won the 1974 World Military Cross Country Championships. He was the world military runner-up in 1975. Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping and throwing. European Cup (athletics)
The European Cup is a former athletics competition for European teams that was replaced by the European Team Championships starting in 2009 and was organized by European Athletics Association. The European Cup saw most of the major nations of Europe compete. Originally known as the Bruno Zauli Cup, it first took place in 1965 in Stuttgart (men) and Kassel (women), West Germany. Initially, the competition was a bi-annual event (tri-annual once); however, from 1993, it took place once every year. Waregem (; ), spelled Waereghem before, is a municipality and city located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality lies in the valley of the river Lys, between Kortrijk and Ghent. San Silvestre Vallecana
The San Silvestre Vallecana is an annual 10 km road race held on 31 December in Madrid, Spain since 1964. It has two editions: a fun run for amateur athletes and an elite race for professional athletes. In 2012, the race achieved its historical record of participants, up to 40,000.
