Destiny Slocum
Destiny Slocum (born September 9, 1997) is an American basketball player for Basket Landes of the La Boulangère Wonderligue. She played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. She played in the WNBA for the Las Vegas Aces and the Atlanta Dream. She was a 2016 McDonald's High School All-American who played her Freshman year at the University of Maryland and was named WBCA Freshman of the Year. She then transferred to Oregon State and was required to sit out a season per NCAA rules. Following the 2018–2019 season, she was named an honorable mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Associated Press. In April 2020, she announced that she was entering the Transfer Portal, planning to leave Oregon State. She has one year left of eligibility. 2022 WNBA Season
The 2022 WNBA season was the 26th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Chicago Sky were the defending champions. The WNBA's second Commissioner's Cup took place during the regular season, with the Las Vegas Aces winning over the Sky. In the playoffs, the Aces were the first seed and won the Finals over the Connecticut Sun. The regular season was expanded to 36 games per team, is the most games scheduled in a single WNBA season. A 36-game season was originally scheduled for 2020, but the plan was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This season also marked the return of an all-series playoffs, which was last used in 2015, instead of the prior schedule of two rounds of single-elimination games and byes for the higher-seeded teams. 2021 Las Vegas Aces Season
The 2021 Las Vegas Aces season was the franchise's 25th season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and the 4th year the franchise was based in Las Vegas. The regular season tipped off on May 15, 2021 at the Seattle Storm. The Aces started the season by splitting a two game set in Seattle in a rematch of last year's finals. After that set, they won four of their remaining five games in May, with their only other loss coming against Connecticut. They lost their opening game in June, but went on a five game winning streak from there. The streak was snapped in Minnesota, in overtime, in a one point loss to the Lynx. The Aces followed the loss with an overtime win against Seattle to finish out June 7–2. They carried their winning streak into July, winning the first two games of July. The 2021 WNBA season was the 25th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Seattle Storm were the defending champions. In the playoffs, the Chicago Sky won in four games over the Phoenix Mercury. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, teams played a 32-game season (rather than the 36 games agreed to in the original 2020 season schedule) that included mini two-game series to reduce travel. The regular season ran from May 14 to September 19, with a break from July 12 to August 11 for the Olympic Games. The organization was formed in 1981, with the goal of addressing the needs of women's basketball coaches.
