Desert X-Prix
The 2021 Desert X-Prix was an Extreme E off-road race that was held on 3 and 4 April 2021 in Al-'Ula, Saudi Arabia. It was the first Championship round of the electric off-road racing car series' inaugural season. The final was won by Johan Kristoffersson and Molly Taylor for the Rosberg X Racing team, ahead of Andretti United Extreme E and Team X44. 2021 Extreme E Championship
The 2021 Extreme E Championship was the inaugural season of the Extreme E electric off-road racing series. It started on 3 April with the Desert X-Prix in Saudi Arabia. Calendar A provisional race schedule was announced on 17 December 2019, which would have seen a season start in January 2021 with an event in Senegal. But because of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic the start of the season was pushed back to spring 2021, and a race in Patagonia was presented to replace a Nepal-based event. On 11 June 2021, both South American events –planned to be held in Ushuaia, Argentina and Santarém, Pará, Santarém, Brazil– were cancelled, with championship CEO Alejandro Agag stating they are "seeking alternate destinations". Sara Price (born September 2, 1992) is an American racing driver, having competed in motocross, rallying, the X Games, Stadium Super Trucks and Extreme E. Price has won 17 national motocross championships and she has medaled in the X Games. She hails from Southern California and has been racing since the age of 8. Racing career In 2010, Price became first female factory supported motocross racer to race for Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing. Over the next few years, Price raced for Monster Energy Kawasaki and medaled several times at the X Games before transitioning to racing off-road. Kyle LeDuc (July 29, 1981 – November 11, 2023) was an American professional racing driver. He mainly competed in short course off-road truck racing, where he had seven Pro 4 class championships, six of which came in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), and over 100 career wins. LeDuc had also raced in Championship Off-Road Racing, Stadium Super Trucks, and TORC: The Off-Road Championship. Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky (born 13 November 1992) is a Swedish racing driver currently competing in the Extreme E Championship for Rosberg X Racing. JBXE is an Extreme E racing team. The team was founded by the 2009 Formula One World Champion, Jenson Button, and takes part in the series that is highlighting the impacts of climate change. History In January 2021, it was announced that Jenson Button had founded his own team for the newly established racing series. The name "JBXE" takes its name from the initials of Jenson Button, with the XE standing for Extreme E. It was initially announced that Button would be driving in the team himself alongside Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky. Oliver Roy Bennett (born 7 November 1992) is a rallycross driver from Bristol, United Kingdom. He is the co-founder of the Xite Energy drink company, and competes in the FIA World Rallycross Championship and Extreme E for the Xite Energy Racing team. Early career Bennett started his racing career competing in motocross from the age of 8, through to 18 when he competed in the European MX championship. Christine Giampaoli Zonca (born 22 July 1993), more commonly known by her nickname Christine GZ, is an Italian-Spanish rally and off-road race driver. After an off-road racing career in America, competing with the team Dynamic Racing, Zonca raced in Europe with the Avatel Telecom Race Team. In late 2020, Zonca scored a third place in the Andalucia Rally round of the FIA World Cross Country Championship. Biography GZ was born to Italian parents in Pondicherry, India, where she lived for eight years before moving to Milan, Italy, and then to Tenerife, Canary Islands.
