Derrick Pope
Derrick Trayon Pope (born May 4, 1982) is a former American football linebacker. He was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL draft. He played college football at Alabama Crimson Tide football, Alabama. Pope was also a member of the Minnesota Vikings and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Early life Pope grew up in Palm Terrace. He was raised by a single mother Stephanie Pope and stepfather Horace Byrd Jr. Pope has two younger siblings Roshawn Pope and Shakari Byrd. Pope has a stepbrother Horace Byrd lll who became the First Male Tornette. He attended Ball High School in Galveston, Texas. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and typically line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and so back up the defensive linemen. They play closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary). Jayhawk Conference
The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) is a college athletic conference that is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). As of 2007, the KJCCC was home to more than 3,000 student-athletes in the 19 men's and women's sports. The conference's name comes from " Jayhawk" which is a term used for people born in the state of Kansas, where all of the conference's schools are located. The term Jayhawk, however, originated with a group of anti-slavery guerrillas during the American Civil War. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed on outstanding athletes in the United States who are considered to be among the best athletes in their respective sport. Garden City Community College
Garden City Community College (Garden City CC or GCCC) is a public community college in Garden City, Kansas. It was established in 1919 to provide a means for post-secondary education for area residents. The school initially shared facilities in Sabine Hall and Calkins Hall in the 100 block of Buffalo Jones Avenue with Garden City High School and opened with a first class of less than three dozen students. The college moved to the then-new Garden City High School building in 1954.
