Derrick Goold
Derrick S. Goold (born July 21, 1975) is an American author and sportswriter best known for his work for the ''St. Louis Post-Dispatch''. Goold has been honored for feature writing and investigative reporting for his work covering baseball, hockey and college athletics. He is also a contributor to ''Baseball America'' and an on-air talent for several St. Louis, Missouri radio stations. Goold was president of the Baseball Writers' Association of America in 2016 after serving as vice president in 2015. Early life Goold was born in Elgin, Illinois on July 21, 1975 and moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1983. He attended Centaurus High School in Lafayette, Colorado, rival high school of Cardinals General Manager John Mozeliak's Fairview High School. WXOS (101.1 FM) is a commercial radio station affiliated with ESPN Radio and licensed to East St. Louis, Illinois, broadcasting to the Greater St. Louis area. Owned by Hubbard Broadcasting, its studio facilities are located on Olive Boulevard in St. Louis, while its transmitter is located in south St. Louis County near Concord. KMOX (1120 AM) is a commercial radio station in St. Louis, Missouri. Owned by Audacy, Inc., it is a 50,000 watt Class A clear-channel station with a non-directional signal. The KMOX studios and offices are on Olive Street at Tucker Boulevard in the Park Pacific Building in St. Louis. KMOX refers to itself as "NewsRadio 1120 - The Voice of St. Louis." It is considered the first U.S. station to program all talk shows around the clock. KMOX's transmitter is located off Route 162 in Pontoon Beach, Illinois.
