Derrick Bryant
Derrick Shawn Bryant (born December 26, 1974) is an American former basketball player. He played college basketball for Norfolk State University before playing professionally in Europe and South America for ten years. High school career Bryant attended Kennedy High School in Suffolk before enrolling in Lakeland High School in 1990. As a high school senior, Bryant was an all-state selection and averaged 22.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists for Nansemond River High School, leading them to a 27-1 record and the state Group AA championship. College career After initially enrolling at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where he attended class for four days, he transferred to Norfolk State University, where he played from 1992 to 1996. Lakeland High School (Virginia)
Lakeland High School is a public secondary school in Suffolk, Virginia, United States. It opened in September 1990 and originally consisted of students from the four former high schools of John F. Kennedy High School, Forest Glen High School, John Yeates High School, and Suffolk High School. Lakeland opened its doors to approximately 1800 students. The student population swelled to nearly 2600 students in 2003, and in 2004 a new high school, King's Fork, opened. King's Fork High School is located in Suffolk, Virginia. It is administered by Suffolk City Public Schools. The school colors are maroon and Vegas gold, and the official mascot is the Bulldog. The Indiana Pacers are an American professional basketball team based in Indianapolis. The Keflavík men's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the men's professional basketball department of Keflavík ÍF (Keflavík, íþrótta- og ungmennafélag), based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. The Icelandic Men's Basketball Cup (Icelandic: Bikarkeppni KKÍ), also known as VÍS bikarinn for sponsorship reasons, is an annual professional basketball competition between clubs in Iceland. It is Iceland's first-tier cup competition, and is not to be confused with Iceland's former second-tier cup competition, the Company Cup. History and format The first edition of the Icelandic Cup championship took place in 1965, and was won by Ármann. In 1968 and 1969, the cup competition was not held, but it has been held regularly every year from 1970 onward. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged.
