Derik Queen
Derik Queen (born December 27, 2004) is an American basketball player. He played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins of the Big Ten Conference. He played high school basketball for Montverde Academy and was a consensus five-star recruit in the 2024 class. High school career As a freshman, Queen attended Saint Frances Academy in his native Baltimore. On March 12, 2021, he scored a season-high 56 points in a 99–55 win over Annapolis Area Christian School. Queen averaged 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks per game during the COVID-shortened season, leading the Panthers to a 15–1 record and an appearance in the Baltimore Catholic League title game. He was named the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year for his performance. Following the season, Queen transferred to Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida. Milton High School is a high school in Milton, Georgia, United States. History Milton High School opened in 1921 in Alpharetta, Georgia, providing grades one to eleven for all of Milton County. In the 1950s, an elementary school was built, with Milton High School then providing only grades eight through twelve. In the 1980s, the school became Fulton County's first comprehensive high school. The ''Cumberland Times-News'' is a five-day morning daily newspaper serving Cumberland, Maryland, United States, and the surrounding areas of Allegany and Garrett counties in Maryland, and Mineral County in West Virginia. The paper, which has existed under various titles, dates back to the early 19th century. In basketball, a double-double is a single-game performance in which a player accumulates ten or more in two of the following five statistical categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots.
