Derek Newton
Derek Newton (born November 16, 1987) is an American former professional football offensive tackle. He was selected by the Houston Texans in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL draft and played for the team until knee injuries halted his career in 2016. He also played for the New Orleans Saints. He played college football at Arkansas State, and Hinds Community College before that. Early life A native of Utica, Mississippi, Newton attended Hinds County Agricultural High School, where he was an All-Metro and All-District lineman as a senior, after playing only two years of high school football. He helped the team to a 10–0 regular-season record during senior season. However, Newton went unregarded by national recruiting services like Rivals.com and Scout.com. North Texas Mean Green Football
The North Texas Mean Green football program is the intercollegiate team that represents the University of North Texas in the sport of American football. The Mean Green compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the American Athletic Conference. They are coached by Eric Morris, who was hired as the new head coach of the Mean Green on December 13, 2022. North Texas has produced 24 conference championship titles, with twelve postseason bowl appearances and four appearances in the former I-AA (now Football Championship Series) Playoffs. Ryan Emerson Wilcox Harris (born March 11, 1985) is an American former professional football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft and was also a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The 2012 season was the Detroit Lions' 83rd in the National Football League (NFL), their 79th as the Detroit Lions and their fourth under head coach Jim Schwartz. The Lions failed to improve from their 10–6 record in 2011, and spent most of the season at the bottom of their division. Eric Joseph Winston (born November 17, 1983) is an American former professional football offensive tackle. He played in college at the University of Miami and was selected by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2006 NFL draft.
