Derek Dodson
Derek Dodson (born November 3, 1998) is an American professional association football, soccer player who plays as a Defender (association football), wing-back for Charleston Battery in the USL Championship. Early years Dodson was born in Aurora, Illinois. Growing up he was a three-year starter and one-year captain during his five seasons with the Sockers FC academy. The club qualified for the playoffs in all five years and Dodson was named to the 2017 U.S. Soccer Development Academy, USSDA Central Conference Best XI. Georgetown Hoyas Dodson played college soccer at Georgetown University, scoring 32 goals in 72 appearances for the Georgetown Hoyas men's soccer, Georgetown Hoyas between 2017 and 2021. He appeared in all 20 games as a freshman but was limited to seven starts. Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. The North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer team represents the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in men's NCAA Division I soccer competition. They compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heels won the NCAA championship in 2001 and 2011. History The UNC men's varsity soccer team was founded in 1947 by Dr. Marvin Allen, the team's first coach. Before the team had only been at the club level. Dr. Allen led the team until 1977 when the current UNC women's soccer team coach Anson Dorrance took over. Dorrance spent 12 successful seasons with the men's team until 1988. Ryan Dodson
Ryan Nicholas Dodson (born October 14, 1992) is an American professional soccer player. Career Youth and Club Dodson played one year of college soccer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011, before transferring to University of Denver the following year. Out of college, Dodson went unrated in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, later signing with Swedish side IFK Stockaryd/IF Rörviks. After a year in Sweden, Dodson signed with United Soccer League side Pittsburgh Riverhounds on February 11, 2016. He was released by Pittsburgh four months later. Ben Pirmann (born September 19, 1985) is an American soccer coach who is the head coach of USL Championship club Charleston Battery. Playing career Pirmann played four years of college soccer at Michigan State University between 2004 and 2008, including a redshirted year in 2007. Pirmann tallied 13 assists and scored one goal during his career, leading MSU in assists in 2006. He was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was the Spartans' recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship award in 2008. The 2021 MLS SuperDraft was the 22nd edition of the SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. The SuperDraft is held every January prior to the start of the MLS season. The 2020 SuperDraft was the first held exclusively via conference call and web streaming.
