Derailers
The Derailers are an American country music band based in Austin, Texas. They were founded by Portland, Oregon, natives Tony Villanueva and Brian Hofeldt in 1994. History The Derailers' first LP, ''Live Tracks'', was issued in 1995. It was the first release of the Austin-based independent label Freedom Records. Shortly after the release, The Derailers became one of the most talked about acts at Austin's 1995 South by Southwest music festival, and the record became profitable within two months. This occurred at a time when “ Americana” radio stations were starting to multiply and various forms of non-mainstream country music were coming together under such rubrics as Americana and alternative-country. The Derailers became a major part of that movement, representing the " traditional honky-tonk" end of the subgenre. Wes Edwards
Wes Edwards is a music video and commercial director. He has directed over 150 official music videos in various genres from country to EDM. Watermelon Records was a record label based in Austin, Texas. History Watermelon Records was founded in 1989 by John Kunz, Heinz Gessler, and Robert Earl Keen. Keen later sold his interest in the label. During the 1990s, Watermelon released 10-15 albums a year, mostly Americana music. Watermelon Records filed for bankruptcy in 1998, and its assets were sold to Texas Clef Entertainment Group, an affiliate of Antone's Records. Doyle Floyd Hendricks (June 30, 1936 – January 13, 2007), known by the stage name Doyle Holly, was an American musician best known as the bass guitar player of the country music band Buck Owens and the Buckaroos and for his solo hit songs "Queen Of The Silver Dollar" and "Lila". Holly's contributions on bass guitar and rhythm guitar were a key component of the Bakersfield sound. Alvis Edgar Owens Jr. (August 12, 1929 – March 25, 2006), known professionally as Buck Owens, was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and band leader. He was the lead singer for Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, which had 21 No. 1 hits on the '' Billboard'' country music chart.
