Agostino Depretis
Agostino Depretis (31 January 181329 July 1887) was an Italian statesman and politician. He served as Prime Minister of Italy for several stretches between 1876 and 1887, and was leader of the Historical Left parliamentary group for more than a decade. He is the fourth-longest serving Prime Minister in Italian history, after Benito Mussolini, Giovanni Giolitti and Silvio Berlusconi. Depretis is widely considered one of the most powerful and important politicians in Italian history. Guido Baccelli
Guido Baccelli (25 November 1830 – 10 January 1916) was an Italian physician and statesman. One of the most renowned Italian physicians of the late 19th Century, he was Minister of Education of the then young Kingdom of Italy for six times and once Minister of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce, for a total period of almost ten years, between 1881 and 1903. He was a teacher to Augusto Murri. Together with Italian surgeon Francesco Durante, Baccelli promoted the construction of the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome. Andrea Carlo Agostino Del Santo (Genoa, 16 October 1830 – Genoa, 7 February 1905) was an Italian admiral and politician who briefly served as Minister of the Navy of the Kingdom of Italy. Early life and Sardinian Royal Navy Andrea was the son of Angelo Del Santo, a general of the Kingdom of Sardinia and his wife Rosa Millelire. He studied at the Sardinian Royal Navy School in Genoa, graduating on 20 April 1848 with the rank of ensign. He took part in the First Italian War of Independence with the Royal Sardinian Navy on board the frigate '' San Michele'', blockading Trieste, bombarding Austrian forts near Venice, and intercepting Austrian merchant ships.
