Department Of Transport And Main Roads
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), is a department of the Queensland Government. TMR was formed in April 2009 by merging Queensland Transport and the Department of Main Roads. TMR manages Queensland's 33,000 km state road network, which includes 3,100 bridges. TMR also oversees most public transport services throughout the state, which it does through its agency Translink. TMR employs more than 10,000 people, and provides customer service centres, marine operation bases and regional and divisional offices. The department works with Queensland Rail, port authorities, other state and federal government departments, local governments, industry, and the community. Following the 2012 state election, Premier Campbell Newman appointed one Minister for the whole department. In 2015, Labor headed by Annastacia Palaszczuk won the state election. 2015 Queensland State Election
The 2015 Queensland state election was held on 31 January 2015 to elect all 89 members of the unicameral Legislative Assembly of Queensland. The centre-right Liberal National Party (LNP), led by Premier Campbell Newman, attempted to win a second term but was defeated by the opposition centre-left Australian Labor Party (ALP), led by Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk. Labor formed a minority government with the support of the lone independent MP in the chamber, Peter Wellington. Mark Craig Bailey is an Australian politician who has been the Labor member for Miller (formerly Yeerongpilly) in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2015. Jacklyn Anne Trad (born 25 April 1972) is an Australian former politician.
