Derek Oldbury
Derek Oldbury (1924 - July, 1994) (often known as DEO) was a British draughts champion from Devon. He was a rival of Marion Tinsley and, after Tinsley, "probably the second best player of all time." Oldbury was interested in Go As You Please (GAYP) draughts, a variant where players have the liberty to select their own opening moves. He competed in 7 world championship matches, winning in 1976, 1976 (GAYP) and 1991 (3-move). Oldbury was born paraplegic. He wrote the 6-volume ''The Complete Encyclopaedia of Draughts''. Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo is an Indian politician from Odisha and a member of the former royal family of Patna, Bolangir. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Deo is serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, holding the portfolios of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment and the Ministry of Energy. Seema Deo (27 March 1942 – 24 August 2023) was an Indian Hindi and Marathi film actress. She appeared in over 80 Marathi and Hindi films. She won Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Actress for the film Pahu re kiti vaat. Biography Seema Deo was born and brought up in Girgaum, Mumbai. She was married to actor Ramesh Deo. They had two sons, actor Ajinkya Deo and director Abhinay Deo. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease in the last years of her life. Seema Deo died on 24 August 2023, at the age of 81. Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo KCIE (31 March 1912 – 23 February 1975) was an Indian politician and the last ruler of the princely state of Patna in Odisha before Indian independence in 1947. Maharaja Pratap Keshari Deo (5 October 1919 – 8 October 2001) was an Indian politician. He was the last ruler of Kalahandi State from 1939 to 1947. Post-independence, he was elected from the Kalahandi constituency in Odisha to the Lower House of the Indian Parliament the Lok Sabha.
