Denver Outlaws (2006–2020)
The Denver Outlaws were a Major League Lacrosse professional men's field lacrosse team based in Denver, Colorado, United States. They began playing in the MLL in 2006 as an expansion team. During their time in the MLL, the Outlaws played in the championship game a league-record ten times. Missed the playoffs just once in franchise history and never had a losing season. The Outlaws regularly posted the highest attendance in the league. The Outlaws won their first MLL Championship on August 23, 2014, defeating the Rochester Rattlers 12-11 and won their second MLL Championship in 2016, defeating the Ohio Machine 19–18. On August 18, 2018, the Outlaws won their third championship by defeating the Dallas Rattlers, 16–12. Premier Lacrosse League
The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) is a professional field lacrosse league in the United States. The league comprises eight teams. Its inaugural season debuted on June 1, 2019, and included a 14-week tour-based schedule taking place in 12 major-market cities. The league was founded by the American professional lacrosse player Paul Rabil and his brother Mike Rabil. Investors include the Chernin Group, the Raine Group and Joseph Tsai. History In September 2018, Bloomberg reported that Paul Rabil would be launching a new professional lacrosse league. Chesapeake Bayhawks
The Chesapeake Bayhawks were a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) professional men's field lacrosse team based in Annapolis, Maryland. They played in the greater Baltimore metro area beginning with the MLL's inaugural 2001 season, as the Baltimore Bayhawks from 2001 to 2006 and as the Washington Bayhawks from 2007 to 2009. They won six Steinfeld Cup titles, the most of any MLL franchise. 2017 Denver Outlaws Season
The 2017 Denver Outlaws season was the twelfth season for the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse. The Outlaws come into the 2017 season as defending MLL champions after defeating the Ohio Machine in the 2016 final, 19-18. After losing in their first four Steinfeld Cup appearances, the Outlaws have won two championships in the past three seasons. Despite winning the title in 2016, the Outlaws had to rattle off six straight wins at the end of the regular season just to finish tied atop the standings at 8-6 with six other teams. Due to tiebreaker procedures, the Outlaws were rewarded the third seed in the postseason. On August 5, thanks to an Ohio loss to Rochester in the last week of the regular season, the Outlaws clinched the top spot in the postseason with a 9-5 record. The Ohio Machine was a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) professional men's field lacrosse team based in Obetz, Ohio. They first played in the 2012 MLL season and continued through the 2018 season.
