Denots Crew
The Denots Crew (TDC) is a group of international Street artists, musicians and dancer. Their artwork and music productions pushed Berlin Hip Hop, Hip-Hop- and Graffiti History since 1982 to Europe's main cities of today. HISTORY * Graffiti - group "The Unknown 3" (Deza aka Combo, Crime, Crazy Colour, from 1985 Rebel and since 1987 Kaos) * German Rap-group: "The Denots Crew" * German Breakdance Group "Ku-Damm" * German Punk Rock Band "Razzia" Those 4 groups started separately but became one as TDC because of their affinity to Skateboarding and their neighbourhood Märkisches Viertel, a large housing estate in the north of Berlin. Beginning "The Early Days 1980s" At the beginning of the 1980s, West Berlin was still surrounded by the Berlin Wall. American hip-hop had hardly been seen on the streets of Europe. Piece (graffiti)
Pieces, short for "masterpieces", are a form of graffiti that involves large, elaborate and detailed letter forms. They are one of the main forms of modern graffiti, along with Tag (graffiti), tags and Throw up (graffiti), throw ups, and are the least controversial of the three and least likely to be seen as vandalism. Due to their size, pieces are almost always done in Aerosol paint, aerosol spray paint, but graffiti artists may use paint rollers for large areas that require filling in with paint. Form Pieces tend to be large, with multi-coloured fills and outlines. They often incorporate highlights, shadows, and a background, and may use extensions on letter forms, 3D effects, and sometimes characters. Because of their complexity and large size, pieces usually take a significant amount of time to plan and paint and therefore are often found on legal walls.
