Denny Kantono
Denny Kantono (; born 12 January 1970) is a retired Chinese-Indonesian badminton player who specialized in men's doubles. He shared numerous international titles with his regular partner Antonius Ariantho including the French (1993), Hong Kong (1993), Denmark (1994), Thailand (1994), Chinese Taipei (1995, 1999), and Indonesia (1996) Opens; as well as the (now defunct) Badminton World Cup (1996) and World Badminton Grand Prix (1998) events. They were runners-up at the prestigious All-England Championships in 1995 and bronze medalists at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Kantono competed in badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics in men's doubles, with Antonius Ariantho, and won a bronze medal. They lost in semifinals against Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock, of Malaysia, 15–10, 15–4, and in the bronze medal match they defeated Soo Beng Kiang and Tan Kim Her, of Malaysia, 15–4, 12–15, 15–8. Badminton Asian Cup
The Badminton Asian Cup was an Asian continental championship in the five individual disciplines in badminton. It was held in 1991, 1994, 1995 and 1996. From 1997 a team competition called the Asia Cup followed. The Thailand Open in badminton is an open international championships held in Thailand since 1984. It was halted in 1986, 1998, 2002, 2010, 2014, and 2021. BWF categorised Thailand Open as one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events in the BWF events structure since 2018. The Denmark Open, or formerly known as Danish Open, is an annual badminton tournament held in Denmark and organized by Badminton Denmark. The Denmark Open was part of the BWF Super Series Premier from 2011 to 2017. BWF categorised it as one of the five BWF World Tour Super 750 events per the BWF events structure since 2018. French Open (badminton)
The French Open () is an annual badminton tournament held in France since 1909 and hosted by the Fédération Française de Badminton (FFBad). The tournament was halted between 1915 and 1934, in 1965, 1970, 1972, 1994 and 2006. Not previously considered one of the international badminton circuit's leading events, it was promoted to become part of the BWF Super Series in 2007 making the French Open one of the 12 major badminton tournaments in the world. PB Djarum
PB Djarum is an Indonesian badminton club in Kudus, Central Java. The club was founded at the Djarum ''brak'' (cigarette factory) located at Jl. Bitingan Lama (now called Jl. Lukmonohadi) No. 35 in Kudus in 1969. Djarum's CEO, Budi Hartono, encouraged the use of an on-site badminton court among his employees. A young athlete, Liem Swie King, played well, leading Budi Hartono to seriously develop the Kudus community's activities into the PB Djarum organization. PB Djarum's name gained recognition when Indonesia won the Thomas Cup in 1984 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
