Dennis Orcollo
Dennis Orcollo (born January 28, 1979), sometimes called Dennis Orcullo, is a Filipino professional pool player, nicknamed "''Surigao''" (after a province in the Philippines) and "RoboCop". He has been called "The Money-Game King". Orcollo is considered one of the greatest pool players of all time. Since 2005, Orcollo has won over 90 professional tournaments, including over 20 major titles. He is a world champion, winning the 2011 WPA World Eight-ball Championship. Orcollo has been a dominant player at the annual Derby City Classic, winning seven times overall, including Master of the Table three times in 2014, 2017, and 2020. Eight-ball (also spelled 8-ball or eightball, and sometimes called solids and stripes, spots and stripes, bigs and smalls, big ones and little ones, or rarely highs and lows) is a discipline of Pool (cue sports), pool played on a billiard table with six Pocket (billiards), pockets, cue sticks, and sixteen billiard balls (a and fifteen ). The object balls include seven solid-colored balls numbered 1 through 7, seven striped balls numbered 9 through 15, and the black 8 ball. The Southeast Asian Games, commonly known as SEA Games is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia. Derby City Classic
The Derby City Classic is an annual pool convention and tournament held every January at the Caesars Southern Indiana casino in Elizabeth, Indiana, near Louisville, Kentucky. It is eight days long and offers various disciplines of competition for pool players of all caliber. It is often referred to as the DCC. History The annual convention has been in existence since 1997. Diamond Billiard Products, is the title sponsor of the event, and the lead tournament promoter is Greg Sullivan. Over $100,000 is to the tournament payouts. Sullivan was inspired to create the DCC by the Johnston City Classic, a former all-around tournament held in Johnston City, Illinois and first organized in 1961 with the purpose of bringing America's top pool gamblers together. The 2011 WPA World Eight-ball Championship was an eight-ball world championship, organized by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA), and held 19–26 February 2011 at the Fujairah Exhibition Centre of the Al Diar Siji Hotel in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. A total of 116 players from all of the WPA's six regions participated. The event was won by Dennis Orcollo of the Philippines, who won the event with a 9–2 win in the final over Niels Feijen of the Netherlands.
