Aleksandr Sergeyevich Demyanenko (russian: Алекса́ндр Серге́евич Демья́ненко; May 30, 1937 – August 22, 1999) was a Soviet and Russian actor. He was given the honorary distinction of People's Artist of the RSFSR. He began his acting career with the film '' The Wind'' in 1959, and is well known for playing the character Shurik in a number of films, beginning with the 1965 comedy ''Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures'', and ending with the 1997 film ''Old Songs of the Main Things 2''. Valentin Demyanenko (), born 23 October 1983 in Cherkasy, is a former Ukrainian-born Azerbaijani flatwater canoeist. He is a four times world champion, three times European champion and silver medalist of 2016 Summer Olympics in C-1 200 metres. Career Demyanenko was a late developer and only came to prominence in 2004 with a shock victory in the C-1 500m final at the European under-23 championships in Poznań, Poland. Viktor Leonidovich Demyanenko (russian: Виктор Леонидович Демьяненко) (born August 26, 1958 in Alma-Ata, Kazakh SSR) is a retired boxer, who represented the USSR at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Soviet Union.
