Demons (Guster Song)
''Goldfly'' is the second studio album by the rock band Guster, released in 1997. The album was recorded in December 1996 at the House of Blues Studios in Encino, California. It sold around 20,000 copies as an independent release, before being picked up by Sire Records. The Sire version was remixed by Mike Shipley. There are three versions of the album. The original, rare, independently released version has the hidden song "Melanie" before the first song. The version released on Hybrid/Sire Records has the hidden song as the eleventh track. The third version, distributed to members of Guster's rep program, is a bad CD pressing of the album which contains "Melanie" as the first track, while "Getting Even" and "Bury Me" are combined as a single track. Guster
Guster is an American alternative rock band formed in Somerville, Massachusetts. Founding members Adam Gardner, Ryan Miller, and Brian Rosenworcel began practice sessions while attending Tufts University and formed the band in 1991. The members met during the freshman Wilderness Orientation program in August of that year, playing publicly together as a trio two months later at the Midnight Cafe coffee house set in the common area of the Lewis Hall dormitory. While attending Tufts, the band lived at 139 College Avenue in Somerville. The band stayed " underground" for its first two full-length albums, ''Parachute'' (1994) and '' Goldfly'' (1997), but broke into the musical mainstream in 1999 with its third studio album '' Lost and Gone Forever'', featuring the single " Fa Fa", which made it onto the Adult Top 40. Hammond Organ
The Hammond organ is an electric organ invented by Laurens Hammond and John M. Hanert, first manufactured in 1935. Multiple models have been produced, most of which use sliding #Drawbars, drawbars to vary sounds. Until 1975, sound was created from rotating a metal tonewheel near an electromagnetic pickup, and Power amplifier, amplifying the electric signal into a speaker enclosure, speaker cabinet. The organ is commonly used with the Leslie speaker. Around two million Hammond organs have been manufactured. Davey Faragher
David Allen "Davey" Faragher (born August 18, 1957) is an American bass guitarist from Redlands, California. Faragher's career took off and received critical notice as a founding member of the nineties band Cracker, and his subsequent work with John Hiatt's band, and The Imposters, the backing band for Elvis Costello since 2001. In 2015, Faragher joined Richard Thompson's Electric Trio for Thompson's ''Still'' album and US tour. Faragher is an accomplished session musician, and has a strong portfolio of performances with notable musicians. Biography In the mid-to-late 1970s, Faragher recorded three albums with his brothers Danny Faragher, Jimmy, and Tommy Faragher as The Faragher Brothers. Adam Gardner
Adam Seth Gardner (born May 31, 1973) is an American guitarist and vocalist of the rock band Guster and a member of the Tufts University Beelzebubs. Biography Gardner grew up outside Morristown, New Jersey, and played for a band called Royal Flush while a student at the Pingry School, from which he graduated in 1991. He also attended Harding Township School in New Vernon, New Jersey. Gardner, working with Dave Schneider, created a side-project in 2005 called The LeeVees. Its album, '' Hanukkah Rocks'', consists of humorous original songs about the Jewish holiday. After living in Brooklyn near the other members of Guster for a time, Gardner relocated to Maine. Gardner broadcasts a weekly radio show in Portland, Maine where he discusses everything from music to environmental issues. Ryan Matthew Miller (born November 21, 1972) is an American musician. He is the co-lead singer for the alternative rock band Guster playing guitar, piano and bass. Mike Shipley
Michael Shipley (7 October 1956 – 25 July 2013) was an Australian mixing engineer, audio engineer, and record producer. Shipley's music career spanned more than 30 years – mostly working in Los Angeles. At the Grammy Awards of 2012 he won the Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical category for his joint work on '' Paper Airplane'' (April 2011), by Alison Krauss and Union Station. Encino is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. History Etymology The name Encino is the misspelling in masculine of Encina, the Spanish language, Spanish word for "holm oak” (Quercus ilex). The Spanish name reflects the original Tongva-language name for the village of Siutcanga, which can be translated to "the place of the oaks." Early history In 1769, the Spanish Portolá expedition, first Europeans to see inland areas of California, traveled north through Sepulveda Pass into the San Fernando Valley on August 5 and stayed two nights at the Tongva village of Siutcanga ("the place of the oaks") near what is now Los Encinos State Historic Park.
