Demon Strings
Demon Strings are a British stringed instrument group. They are best known for being the in-house string section for musician Damon Albarn, having recorded and performed live for several of his projects including The Good, the Bad & the Queen, Gorillaz, Blur and '' Monkey: Journey to the West''. Career Formed in 2005 by cellist Isabelle Dunn (aka. Izzi Dunn) and manager Tee Bowry, Demon Strings is composed of some of the UK's finest string players specializing in live, television and recorded work. As Damon Albarn's "in-house" string section, Demon Strings worked closely with him on several of his projects. These included the Gorillaz album ''Demon Days'', a run of shows at The Manchester Opera House and the Apollo Theater and several TV performances. Continuing the relationship, 2007 saw Demon Strings tour Europe and the US with Albarn's The Good, the Bad & the Queen. The O2
The O2 (formerly known as the Millennium Dome) is a large entertainment district on the Greenwich peninsula in South East London, England, including an indoor arena, a music club, a Cineworld cinema, an exhibition space, Town square, piazzas, bars, restaurants, and a guided tour to the top of the O2. It was built largely within the former Millennium Dome, a large dome-shaped canopy built to house an exhibition celebrating the turn of the third millennium; consequently ''The Dome'' remains a name in common usage for the venue. "Strange Timez" is a song by British virtual band Gorillaz featuring The Cure frontman, Robert Smith. The track was released on 9 September 2020 as the seventh single for Gorillaz' seventh studio album, '' Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez'', and the sixth episode of the ''Song Machine'' project, a web series that involved the release of various Gorillaz tracks featuring different guest musicians over the course of 2020. Merrie Land
''Merrie Land'' is the second and final studio album by English art rock supergroup the Good, the Bad & the Queen. It was produced by Tony Visconti and released on 16 November 2018. Promotion The band announced the album with the single "Merrie Land" and news that they would embark on a five-date tour of the UK in early December 2018. In an interview for ''The Scotsman'', Albarn commented that the album is "a reluctant goodbye letter” to the European Union following Brexit, and "a series of observations and reflections on Britishness in 2018." A video released for "Merrie Land" featured Albarn dressed as a ventriloquist's dummy singing and gesturing in front of a backdrop of pastoral images and English landscapes. ''Plastic Beach'' is the third studio album by British virtual band Gorillaz, released on 3 March 2010 by Parlophone internationally and by Virgin Records in the United States. ''Journey to the West'' is the soundtrack to the stage musical '' Monkey: Journey to the West'' and is composed by English musician Damon Albarn (of Blur and Gorillaz fame) with the UK Chinese Ensemble. In music, strings are long flexible structures on string instruments that produce sound through vibration. Strings are held under tension so that they can vibrate freely. The pitch (frequency) at which a string will vibrate is primarily related to its vibrating length (also called speaking length), its tension, and its mass per unit of length. Coachella (officially called the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and sometimes known as Coachella Festival) is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. Big Day Out
The Big Day Out (BDO) was an annual music festival that was held in five Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. The festival was held during summer, typically in January of each year but was sometimes held as late as early February in some cities including Perth. The event was conceptualised after the Violent Femmes announced a tour of Australia. Promoters Ken West and Vivian Lees sought another act as middle-level support for the band's tour. They succeeded in securing Nirvana (band), Nirvana to play the Sydney leg at the Hordern Pavilion. The Big Day Out debuted on the 1992 Australia Day public holiday in Sydney and eventually expanded to Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth the following year.
