Democratic Party Of Turks
The Democratic Party of Turks of Macedonia (, ''Demokratska partija na Turcite na Makedonija''; ) is a political party of the Turks in North Macedonia, Turkish minority in North Macedonia. In the 2002 parliamentary elections, the party joined the SDSM-led coalition and won 2 seats. In the 2006 parliamentary elections, it joined the SDSM-led coalition and won 2 parliamentary seats. The Party was a part of the VMRO-DPMNE coalition for 8 years from 2008 to 2016. The Party has one member, Yusuf Hasani, in the Macedonian parliament. The party did participate in a coalition with Social Democratic Union of Macedonia, SDSM-Besa Movement, Besa in the 2020 North Macedonian parliamentary election, 2020 parliamentary elections. The party did participate in a coalition with European Front-Democratic Union for Integration in the 2024 North Macedonian parliamentary election, 2024 parliamentary elections. VMRO-DPMNE
The Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization – Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity (), abbreviated as VMRO-DPMNE (), is a conservative and the main centre-right to right-wing political party in North Macedonia. It was established as a nationalist and anti-communist party. It has later rebranded itself as Christian-democratic. The party claims that their goals and objectives are to express the tradition of the Macedonian people on whose political struggle and concepts it is based. Nevertheless, it has formed multiple coalition governments with ethnic minority parties. Under the leadership of Ljubčo Georgievski in the 1990s, the party supported Macedonian independence from Socialist Yugoslavia, and led a policy of closer relationships with Bulgaria. 2024 North Macedonian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in North Macedonia on 8 May 2024. The slow pace of Accession of North Macedonia to the European Union, EU integration and corruption were the main issues during the campaign. The right-wing opposition coalition led by the nationalist VMRO-DPMNE party decisively won the election receiving 45% of the vote and 58 seats which were three short of an outright majority. The incumbent center-left coalition led by the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia lost 28 seats and collapsed to 16% of the popular vote. The Democratic Union for Integration (, ) is the largest ethnic Albanian political party in North Macedonia and the third largest political party in the country.
