Brazilian Democratic Movement
The Brazilian Democratic Movement (, MDB) is a Brazilian political party. It is considered a " big tent party" and it is one of the parties with the greatest representation throughout the national territory, with the most numbers of senators, mayors and city councillors, always having formed a large part of the National Congress since 1988, and also has the largest number of affiliates, with 2,043,709 members . Originally, the MDB was founded on 1965 as part of an enforced two party system by the Brazilian military dictatorship, providing an official, if controlled, opposition. With political opening, in the early 1980s the former members of the MDB created the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (, PMDB), the name by which the party was known until 2018. Democratic Movement (France)
The Democratic Movement (, ; MoDem ) is a centre to centre-right political party in France, whose main ideological trends are liberalism and Christian democracy, and that is characterised by a strong pro-Europeanist stance. MoDem was established by François Bayrou to succeed the Union for French Democracy (UDF) and contest the 2007 legislative election, after his strong showing in the 2007 presidential election. Initially named the Democratic Party (''Parti démocrate''), the party was renamed "Democratic Movement", because there was already a small Democratic Party in France. MoDem secured an agreement with La République En Marche! (LRM) — later Renaissance (RE) — in the 2017 legislative election after Bayrou had endorsed the candidacy of Emmanuel Macron in February. The Democratic Italian Movement (, MID) was a political party in Italy. The MID was founded in February 1995 by Sergio Berlinguer, a former diplomat who had been minister for Italians abroad in Berlusconi I Cabinet. Democratic Movement of Kyrgyzstan (, ) is a political party active in Kyrgyzstan. The party was founded on 27 June 1993 with Jypar Jeksheev as Chairman until 2000, when he was succeeded by Edilbek Sarybaev. In 2000, the movement joined with the supporters of the barred Ar-Namys Party of former Prime Minister Felix Kulov to form an electoral alliance to contest the parliamentary elections. The alliance collapsed when the Ar-Namys Party was registered. In 2004, this movement joined the People's Movement of Kyrgyzstan electoral alliance.
