Yann Demange
Yann Demange (born 1977) is a French film director of French and Algerian parents, who grew up in London. After directing the well-received television series '' Dead Set'' (2008) and '' Top Boy'' (2011), he made his directorial film debut with the critically acclaimed independent film '' '71'' (2014), for which he received the British Independent Film Award for Best Director. Biography Born in Paris to a French mother and an Algerian father, Demange moved to London with his mother and two older half-brothers when he was two years old, initially to the south of the city, then the west. Edgar Demange
Edgar Demange (April 22, 1841 in Versailles – February 1925 in Paris) was a French jurist. He was, with Fernand Labori, the lawyer of Alfred Dreyfus during his trials in 1894 and 1899. Biography Demange was a winner of the national eloquence competition. He became famous by winning the acquittal of prince Pierre Bonaparte, the killer of the Republican Victor Noir in 1870. A specialist in criminal law, he was recognized by his peers and elected a member of the Council of the Order from 1882 to 1892. Jean-Marie Demange (23 July 1943 in Toulouse – 17 November 2008) was a French politician. A member of the UMP he served as a member of the National Assembly from 1986 to 2008. He also served as the Mayor of Thionville for 13 years, serving in that capacity from 25 June 1995 to 21 March 2008. Jeanne Bécu, Comtesse du Barry (19 August 1743 – 8 December 1793) was the last '' maîtresse-en-titre'' of King Louis XV of France. She was executed, by guillotine, during the French Revolution due to accounts of treason—particularly being suspected of assisting ''émigrés'' flee from the Revolution. In order for the king to take Jeanne as a ''maîtresse-en-titre'', she had to be married to someone of high rank so she could be allowed at court; she was hastily married on 1 September 1768, to Comte Guillaume du Barry. The marriage ceremony was accompanied by a false birth certificate, created by Jean du Barry. The certificate made Jeanne younger by three years and dissimulated her “poor” background. Henceforth, she was deemed as an official ''maîtresse-en-titre'' to the king. Her arrival at the French royal court was considered scandalous by some, as she had been a prostitute and a commoner. Ken DeMange (born 3 September 1964) is an Irish former footballer who played for, among others, Liverpool, Leeds United, Hull City and Dundalk. As an international he also played for the Republic of Ireland. Club career Early years DeMange was raised in the Ballygall area of Northside Dublin. He first showed his potential as a schoolboy footballer, playing for St Kevins CBS, Stella Maris and Tolka Rovers before moving on to Home Farm where his teammates included Brian Mooney.
