Delvecchio (TV Series)
''Delvecchio'' is an American drama television series that aired Sundays at 10:00 pm (EST) on CBS from September 9, 1976, to March 13, 1977. It starred Judd Hirsch as the title character, Dominick Delvecchio, an Italian-American detective who worked for the LAPD and also studied to become a lawyer. Premise The title character, a "tough, independent big-city police detective", had graduated from law school but failed the bar examination. Judd Hirsch
Judd Seymore Hirsch (born March 15, 1935) is an American actor. He is known for playing Alex Rieger on the television comedy series ''Taxi'' (1978–1983), John Lacey on the NBC series '' Dear John'' (1988–1992), and Alan Eppes on the CBS series ''Numb3rs'' (2005–2010). ''Johnny Staccato'' is an American private detective television series starring John Cassavetes that ran on NBC from September 10, 1959, through March 24, 1960. The program was initially titled ''Staccato''. Synopsis Titular character Johnny Staccato, played by John Cassavetes, is a jazz pianist and private detective. The setting for many episodes is a Greenwich Village jazz club belonging to his friend, Waldo, played by Eduardo Ciannelli. Walter J. Doniger (July 1, 1917, in New York, New York – November 24, 2011, in Los Angeles, California) was an American film and television director. A graduate of the Harvard School of Business, early in his career he was a screenwriter. Career In the early 1940s, Doniger started as a scriptwriter with Universal Films. During World War II, he worked on training films for the United States Army. His knowledge of military matters was reflected in some of his later work for television and films.
