Delta Motor Corporation was a former automobile company established by Ricardo C. Silverio Sr. in the Philippines. It operated under a technical tie-up with Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan,Doner, p. 43 but also produced its own range of small off-roaders called the "Delta Mini Cruiser". Delta was founded in 1962 and continued to be Toyota's local assembler and distributor until 1984. History In addition to assembling Toyotas for the local market, Delta also used their own name to market the " Mini Cruiser", a little off-roader appearing a lot like a scaled-down 40-series Toyota Land Cruiser and using Toyota engines and other technology. It was developed in the mid-seventies especially for the Philippine Army as the M-1777, but was also sold commercially. Delta Motor Corporation was a South African car manufacturer, which was created through a management buy-out after General Motors (GM) divested from South Africa in 1986. It was headed by former GM executive, Bob Price, who had returned to South Africa from Detroit. Delta Motor Car Company
The Davis Motorcar Company was an American automobile manufacturer based in Van Nuys, in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California, which produced three-wheeled automobiles from 1947 to 1948. In total the company produced 13 vehicles. History Founder Glenn Gordon "Gary" Davis (d. 1973) acquired a prototype called "The Californian" from designer Frank Kurtis, who built it for millionaire racecar driver Joel Thorne. Davis operated in a 57,000 sq. ft. former aircraft assembly building in Van Nuys, where a prototype three-wheeler named "Baby" was built. Baby was powered by a 47 horsepower Hercules 4-cylinder engine coupled to a Borg-Warner 3-speed transmission and Spicer rear end. Baby was unique in that it featured four-across seating. It was planned that production, beginning in 1948, would start at a minimum of 50 cars a day later increasing to 1,000. Delta Motorsport is a British engineering consultancy established in 2005. They were acquired by Cosworth in 2021 and are based near the Silverstone Circuit at Silverstone Park. It was renamed Delta Cosworth after the transition into Cosworth. They are known for designing and building the cars that competed in the Grand Prix Masters series. Delta Motorsport provide all engineering support for Alan Docking Racing and their five Superleague Formula cars.
