Cyprinidae is a family of freshwater fish commonly called the carp or minnow family. It includes the carps, the true minnows, and relatives like the barbs and barbels. Cyprinidae is the largest and most diverse fish family and the largest vertebrate animal family in general with about 3,000 species, of which only 1,270 remain extant, divided into about 370 genera. It has also been documented for more weathering-resistant rocks, such as quartzite, given the right conditions. Subterranean drainage may limit surface water, with few to no rivers or lakes. Stara Zhadova ( uk, Стара Жадова; ro, Jadova or ''Jadova Veche''; yi, זשאַדעווע, Zhadeve) is a village in Chernivtsi Raion, Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine. Fish are aquatic, craniate, gill-bearing animals that lack limbs with digits.
