Delhi SG Pipers
Delhi SG Pipers is a field hockey franchise team based in Delhi that competes in the Hockey India League. It is owned by tennis icon Mahesh Bhupathi's SG Sports. Former Indian goalkeeper P. R. Sreejesh is the director of both the teams. Australian veteran Graham Reid is the men's team's coach, while former Dutch player Dave Smolenaars is the women's team's coach. Hockey India League
Hockey India League is a professional field hockey league in India. It is organized by Hockey India, the governing body for the sport in India. It is considered one of the major sports leagues of the country. It was founded in 2013 as a part of Hockey India's attempt to develop an International Hockey Federation sanctioned league after the un-sanctioned World Series Hockey, began in 2012. The first season took place in 2013. It proved to be a financial success for Hockey India, who were in financial disarray before the league began. In 2015, it was reported that the federation earned a profit from multiple revenues. The most recent champions of the league are Odisha Warriors in the women's edition and Rarh Bengal Tigers in the men's edition. Corey Weyer
Corey Weyer (born 28 March 1996) is an Australian field hockey player who plays as a defender for the Australian national team. Career Junior National Teams Weyer has represented Australia at junior level in both Under 18 and Under 21 age groups. In 2014, Weyer was a member of the Australia Under 18 side at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China. The team won the gold medal, defeating Canada 3–2 in a penalty shoot-out following a 3–3 draw. Weyer made his debut for the Australian Under 21 side, 'The Burras', at the 2016 edition of the Sultan of Johor Cup, winning a gold medal. In 2016, Weyer also a member of the team at the Junior World Cup in Lucknow, India, where the team finished fourth. Bichu Devi Kharibam (born 3 December 2000) is an Indian field hockey player and a member of the Indian women's hockey team. She hails from Manipur. She plays for Indian Oil Corporation Limited in the domestic hockey tournaments. She is a goalkeeper. Early life Bichu Devi started as a football player. But when she did not make it to the local selections, her father persuaded her to go for hockey selections, and she was selected. Aditya Arjun Lalage (born 15 January 2003) is an Indian field hockey player from Maharashtra. He made his Indian debut in the two-match series against Germany in October 2024. He is a forward and represents Maharashtra and Services Sports Control Board in the domestic tournaments. He plays for Delhi SG Pipers, in the Hero Hockey India League. Lucas Toscani (born 22 September 1999) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays as a forward for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Klein Zwitserland and the Argentina national team. In 2024 he represented Argentina at the XXXIII Summer Olympics in France.
