Delfim Ferreira (13 December 1888 – 24 September 1960) was an important Portuguese entrepreneur, born in the town of Riba d'Ave, Vila Nova de Famalição. He was the son of the great Portuguese industrial Narciso Ferreira, who, from a small manual mill, built the largest textile enterprise that existed in Portugal in the second half of the nineteenth century. Educated at the Royal and Imperial School of Reichenberg, Delfim Ferreira, in the 1940s, intended to build a shopping mall in Porto. He expanded his business into other economic sectors, including hydroelectric power and civil construction, contributing to the development of Vale do Ave and providing employment to thousands of workers. Delfim Modesto Brandão
Delfim Modesto Brandão (c. 1835 – ?), also spelled with Galician orthography as Delfín Modesto Brandón, was the penultimate "Juiz" (head of state) of the Couto Misto. He took office in January 1863, according to his memoirs. He was followed by one last "Juiz" whose mandate ceased with the partition and formal annexation of the territory by Spain and Portugal on June 23, 1868. He was born in Tourém, a parish of the Portuguese municipality of Montalegre. He moved to the bordering Couto Misto. At age 28, he served as "Civil and Governative Judge" (formal title of the heads of state of the Couto Misto), after he was elected to end abuses and breaches of the microstate's sovereignty by Portuguese and Spanish authorities. He resigned from office when the partition and annexation of the territory was imminent. In 1904 he completed a memoir with his account of the last decades of the Couto Misto up to its extinction. Delfim Moreira da Costa Ribeiro (; 7 November 1868 – 1 July 1920) was a Brazilian politician who served as the tenth president of Brazil. Biography He was born in Minas Gerais state to a Portuguese father and to a Portuguese Brazilian mother who traced her ancestry back to the early settlers of Brazil. Delfim Moreira, elected vice president under Rodrigues Alves in 1918, provisionally ruled the country as the Brazilian Constitution provided for new elections in case of disability of the president before completing two years in office. Delfim Santiago das Neves (born 5 June 1965) is a São Toméan politician, serving as a member of parliament representing Lobata. He formally served as president of the National Assembly of São Tomé and Príncipe from 2018–2022. Delfim Pinto dos Santos (1907–1966), was a Portuguese academic, philosopher, educationist, essayist and book and movie reviewer. Life Delfim Santos was born in Oporto, Portugal in 1907, to Arnaldo Pinto and Amelia dos Santos Oliveira. His father was a goldsmith and trained him for his craft, which Delfim successfully practiced as apprentice until Arnaldo's untimely death, occurred when the son was aged 15. Still under the impact of his recent orphan condition, the young Delfim kept the family business running for a while, only to become aware that his vocation and motivation lay elsewhere and thereby decided to pursue a lifelong engagement with study and intellectual quest.
