It serves as a secondary airport for Greater Monterrey, handling flight training, executive, and general aviation activities, while also accommodating research and military facilities. Del Norte is a Statutory Town that is the county seat of Rio Grande County, Colorado, United States. The town's name is most commonly pronounced /ˈdɛl nɔɹt/. The town population was 1,458 at the 2020 United States census. History Del Norte is named from the river Rio Grande del Norte, or "large river of the north". There is abundant evidence in the area in the form of arrowheads and campsites of ancient peoples living around Del Norte thousands of years ago, such as the Folsom people. Afterwards, the Utes were known to live around Del Norte and the rest of the San Luis Valley, going back hundreds of years prior to Euro-American contact. El Cerrito del Norte station (Spanish for "The Little Hill of the North") is a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station located on Cutting Boulevard in El Cerrito, California. The station is served by the Orange and Red lines. Located near San Pablo Avenue and Interstate 80, it serves as a regional transit hub for local AC Transit bus services, and for commuter feeder services from Solano, Napa, and Marin Counties in the North Bay plus western Contra Costa County. Opened in 1973, the station was renovated in 2017–2021 to add additional elevators, stairs, and lobby space. The Del Norte salamander (''Plethodon elongatus'') is a species of salamander in the family Plethodontidae endemic to the United States in southwestern Oregon and northwestern California. Description ''Plethodon elongatus'' is a medium-sized, slender salamander. Adults are from snout to vent, and in total length. Limbs are relatively short; toes are short and slightly webbed. Dorsal coloration is dark brown or black. A reddish or reddish-brown straight-edged mid-dorsal stripe may extend from the head to the tip of the tail; the stripe may be less pronounced in older animals. Del Norte Titan
Del Norte Titan is a coast redwood (''Sequoia sempervirens'') tree in Del Norte County, Northern California, that was confirmed by measuring to be at least in diameter at breast height (DBH, measured above soil grade), and tall. Measured by botanist Stephen Sillett, it ranks as the world's fifth largest coast redwood. One source recognizes it as the largest based on a single-stem measurement. But the source's recognition pre-dates a 2014 discovery in the redwood parks that is larger. Lost Monarch in the same park, is actually larger with more wood volume than Del Norte Titan, if basal stems are included. The fourth largest coastal redwood is in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park called Iluvatar. Del Norte Titan was discovered in 1998 along with other giant coast redwoods in the Grove of Titans.
