Brian Christopher Deese (born February 17, 1978) is an American economic and political advisor who is the 13th Director of the National Economic Council, serving under President Joe Biden. In this position, he additionally serves as the inaugural chair of the White House Competition Council. He previously served as a senior advisor to President Barack Obama. Earlier in the Obama administration, Deese served as the deputy director and acting director of the Office of Management and Budget. Deese also served as deputy director of the National Economic Council. Deese served as the Global Head of Sustainable Investing at BlackRock. Derrick Lynn Deese (born May 17, 1970) is a former American football offensive tackle who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL). He was a co-host for a radio show on Fox Sports Radio weekends from 9am to 1pm Pacific Time. High school career Deese prepped at Culver City High School. He is in the Culver City High School Hall Of Fame. College career Deese played college football at the University of Southern California (USC) after playing at El Camino College in Torrance, California. Deese is in the El Camino Hall of Fame. He is also in the California JC Football Hall Of Fame. Professional career Deese spent the majority of his career with the San Francisco 49ers from 1992 through 2003. He was All Pro two years. Derrick Deese Jr
A derrick is a lifting device composed at minimum of one guyed mast, as in a gin pole, which may be articulated over a load by adjusting its guys. Most derricks have at least two components, either a guyed mast or self-supporting tower, and a boom hinged at its base to provide articulation, as in a ''stiffleg'' derrick. The most basic type of derrick is controlled by three or four lines connected to the top of the mast, which allow it both to move laterally and cant up and down. To lift a load, a separate line runs up and over the mast with a hook on its free end, as with a crane. Forms of derricks are commonly found aboard ships and at docking facilities. Some large derricks are mounted on dedicated vessels, and known as floating derricks and sheerlegs. The term derrick is also applied to the framework supporting a drilling apparatus in an oil rig. James Deese
James Earle Deese (1921–1999) was an American psychologist. He joined the faculty of the University of Virginia in 1970 after having taught for many years (since 1950) at Johns Hopkins University. During his tenure at Johns Hopkins, Deese became Chairman of the Psychology Department and also served a term as Chairman of the American Psychological Association. Deese later became the Chairman of the Psychology Department at University of Virginia until his partial retirement, later remaining as professor emeritus.
