Deepak Sharma (soldier)
Captain Deepak Sharma, KC (3 July 1983 – 4 March 2010) was an officer in the Indian Army's Corps of Signals, attached to the 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR). He was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra, India's second-highest peacetime gallantry award, for his valor during a counter-insurgency operation in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir. Early life and education Born in Bidhlan village, Sonipat, Haryana, Captain Deepak Sharma was the son of Shri Naresh Kumar Sharma, a retired banker, and Smt Indu Sharma. He completed his senior secondary education at Shiksha Bharti School, Rohtak, and earned a Bachelor of Technology degree from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak. Mohit Sharma (soldier)
Major Mohit Sharma (13 January 1978 – 21 March 2009) was an Indian Army Officer who was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peace-time military decoration. Sharma was from the elite 1st Para SF. On 21 March 2009, he engaged in an encounter with terrorists in the Hafruda forest of the Kupwara sector of Jammu and Kashmir. He killed four terrorists and rescued two teammates in the process, but sustained multiple gunshot wounds. For this act, he was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, which is the highest peace time military decoration in India. He was awarded two gallantry decorations earlier in his career. The first was the COAS Commendation card for exemplary counter-terrorism duties during Operation Rakshak, which was followed by a Sena Medal for gallantry after a covert operation in 2005. Officers Training Academy
The Officers Training Academy (OTA) is a training establishment of the Indian Army that trains officers for the Short Service Commission (SSC). The 49-week course at the OTA prepares graduates for all branches of the Army, except for the Army Medical Corps. Established in 1963, the first academy is located in Alandur, a southern neighbourhood of Chennai. Rohtak
Rohtak () is a city and the administrative headquarters of the Rohtak district in the Indian state of Haryana.
