Deep Space Transport LLC
Deep Space Transport LLC is a joint venture that is set to provide launch services for the Space Launch System rocket. The joint venture consists of Boeing, the prime contractor for the Space Launch System core stage and the Exploration Upper Stage that will be used on Space Launch System missions, and Northrop Grumman, the prime contractor for the Space Launch System's Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster, solid rocket boosters. Deep Space Transport LLC would be responsible for producing hardware and services for up to 10 Artemis Program, Artemis launches beginning with the Artemis V mission, and up to 10 launches for other NASA missions. NASA expects to procure at least one flight per year to the Moon or other deep-space destinations. Space Launch System
The Space Launch System (SLS) is an American super heavy-lift expendable launch vehicle developed by NASA. As of 2022, SLS has the highest payload capacity of any rocket in operational service, as well as the greatest liftoff thrust of any rocket in operation. As the primary launch vehicle of the Artemis moon landing program, SLS is designed to launch the crewed Orion spacecraft on a trans-lunar trajectory. The first uncrewed launch, Artemis 1, took place on 16 November 2022. Artemis V is the fifth planned mission of NASA's Artemis program and the first crewed flight of the Blue Moon lander. The mission will launch four astronauts on a Space Launch System rocket and an Orion to the Lunar Gateway and will be the third lunar landing of the Artemis program.
