Deep Sky (horse)
(May 11, 2005 - ) is a Japanese racehorse which won the 2008 Tokyo Yūshun and NHK Mile Cup. Race career 2007 In 2007, Deep Sky was two years old, and was left in the care of the trainer Kon. Deep Sky made his debut in October 2007, but was too young to race. 2008 Deep Sky raced six times and finally won for the first time at the end of January 2008. Deep Sky also bested the horse Katsutoshi two races afterwards, but neither was able to win. However, Deep Sky won in Mainichi Hai at the end of March 2008, allowing entryin the NHK Mile Cup which is one of the big races for a three-year-old horse. Deep Sky entered the NHK Mile Cup on schedule. Deep Sky ran through the inside, and by the last straight overtook Black Shell. Kobe Shimbun Hai
The Kobe Shimbun Hai (Japanese 神戸新聞杯) is a Japanese Grade 2 flat horse race in Japan for three-year-old Thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 2400 metres at Hanshin Racecourse in September, but was contested over 2000 metres until 2006. The Kobe Shimbun Hai was first run in 1953 and was elevated to Grade 2 status in 1984. It serves as a trial race for the Kikuka Sho. The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Agnes Tachyon (Japanese : アグネスタキオン, April 13, 1998 - June 22, 2009) was an undefeated Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and a Leading sire in Japan. He was by Sunday Silence, his dam, Agnes Flora (by Royal Ski) won the Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas) and his granddam Agnes Lady won the Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks). Agnes Flora also produced the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) winner Agnes Flight. NHK Mile Cup
The NHK Mile Cup () is a Grade 1 flat horse race in Japan for three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies, run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately one mile) on the turf at Tokyo Racecourse in May. The NHK Mile Cup is sponsored by the Japanese public broadcasting organization NHK, and as such, this race is broadcast not only on Fuji TV (one of NHK's competitors) but on one of the NHK channels that cover horse racing (NHK General TV; the other, BS-1, covers certain other races such as the Japan Cup). (In Japanese horseracing, "Sponsor" doesn't mean the man or organisation provide prize money. Chestnut (coat)
Chestnut is a hair coat color of horses consisting of a reddish-to-brown coat with a mane and tail the same or lighter in color than the coat. Chestnut is characterized by the absolute absence of true black hairs. It is one of the most common horse coat colors, seen in almost every breed of horse. Chestnut is a very common coat color but the wide range of shades can cause confusion. The lightest chestnuts may be mistaken for palominos, while the darkest shades can be so dark they appear black. Chestnuts have dark brown eyes and black skin, and typically are some shade of red or reddish brown. The mane, tail, and legs may be lighter or darker than the body coat, but unlike the bay they are never truly black.
