Deca Sports (video Game)
''Deca Sports'' (''Deca Sporta'' in Japan and South Korea, ''Sports Island'' in Europe) is a sports video game for the Wii developed by Hudson Soft. It is a collection of ten different sports simulations controlled with the Wii Remote. The game was released in Japan on March 19, 2008, April 23, 2009 for South Korea, and was released in the rest of the world later in the year 2008. In late 2007 Hudson conducted a poll to determine a new title for the Western release. The game features sponsorship by Adidas. Hudson Soft
was a Japanese video game company that released numerous games for video game consoles, home computers and mobile phones, mainly from the 1980s to the 2000s. It was headquartered in the Midtown Tower in Tokyo Midtown, Akasaka, Minato, Tokyo, Japan, with an additional office in the Hudson Building in Sapporo. Hudson Soft was founded on May 18, 1973. Initially, it dealt with personal computer products, but later expanded to the development and publishing of video games, mobile content, video game peripherals and music recording. Snowboard cross, also known as boardercross, is a snowboard competition in which four to six competitors race down a course. Snowboard cross courses are typically quite narrow and include cambered turns, various types of jumps, berms, rollers, drops, steep and flat sections designed to challenge the riders' ability to stay in control while maintaining maximum speed. It is not uncommon for racers to collide with each other mid-race. Snowboard cross courses share common traits with motorcycle motocross courses, hence the similarity between the names of each sport. ''Deca Sports 2'' (''Deca Sporta 2'' in Japan, ''Sports Island 2'' in Europe) is a sports video game developed and published by Hudson Soft for the Wii as the sequel to ''Deca Sports''. The game was released across three regions from April to September 2009. Gameplay ''Deca Sports 2'' features ten new sports: darts, dodgeball, ice hockey, kendo, mogul skiing, motorcycle racing, pétanque, speed skating, synchronized swimming and tennis, all controlled with the motion controls of the Wii Remote, with some sports requiring the Nunchuk.
