''Debbie'', is a 1965 South African drama film directed by Elmo De Witt and produced by Jamie Uys for Jamie Uys Filmproduksies. The film stars Suzanne van Oudtshoorn in lead role along with Leon le Roux, Gert van den Bergh and Dawid van der Walt in supportive roles. The film revolves around a teen girl Debbie Malan who went to the town and become pregnant out of wedlock. The film received positive reviews and won several awards at international film festivals. Elmo De Witt (died 2011) was a South African filmmaker, who worked as a director and a producer. His films include ''Debbie (film), Debbie'' (1965), ''The Last Lion (film), The Last Lion'' (1972), ''Ter Wille van Christene'' (1975), ''Grensbasis 13'' (1979) and ''You Must Be Joking! Jamie Uys
Jacobus Johannes Uys ( ; 30 May 1921 – 29 January 1996), better known as Jamie Uys, was a South African film director, best known for directing the 1980 comedy film '' The Gods Must Be Crazy'' and its 1989 sequel '' The Gods Must Be Crazy II''. Uys also directed the 1974 documentary film '' Animals Are Beautiful People''. Early life Before his foray into film, Uys was a mathematics teacher in his hometown of Boksburg. He then married Hettie, a fellow mathematics teacher, and the couple started farming and opening trading posts along the Palala River. He was later appointed local magistrate and Justice of the Peace. In an interview, he stated, "Every Tuesday I crossed the wildest country and swam through rivers to get to the police post where I could hold court". Afrikaans Language
Afrikaans is a West Germanic language spoken in South Africa, Namibia and to a lesser extent Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and also Argentina where there is a group in Sarmiento that speaks the Patagonian dialect. Many foreign films have been produced about South Africa, including many involving race relations. Set in the Kalahari, it told the story about how life in the community of Bushmen is changed when a Coke bottle, thrown out of an airplane, suddenly lands from the sky. Isak Dawid "Dawie" van der Walt (born 11 February 1983) is a South African professional golfer. He won twice on the European Tour in 2013, both times in South Africa, and won twice on the Web.com Tour in 2015. He currently plays on the PGA Tour. Amateur career Van der Walt was born in Paarl, South Africa. He played college golf at Lamar University in the United States, graduating in 2007.
