Death Unlimited (with Faux Cyrillic and Capitals: DEДTH UИLІMITED) is the third full-length studio album by the Finnish melodic death metal band Norther. It was released on 3 March 2004 through Spinefarm Records. The Japanese release of ''Death Unlimited'' and the '' Spreading Death'' CD single features a cover song, " Tornado of Souls" by Megadeth. Norther (band)
Norther was a Finnish melodic death metal band from Espoo that was formed in 1996 and broke up in 2012. They released six studio albums. History Norther formed under the name Requiem (Lindroos, Korpas, Hallio) in 1996 after various early stage band formations. The band's debut effort was the album ''Dreams of Endless War'', released through Spinefarm Records in 2002. It entered the Finnish charts at number 17. At the time, Norther was playing shows only in and around the Helsinki area. That changed when the album ''Mirror of Madness'' came out in early 2003 (entering the Finnish charts at number 11). The group toured with Dimmu Borgir and Hypocrisy (band), Hypocrisy in late 2003. In early 2004, Norther released its third full-length album, ''Death Unlimited'', which reached 17 on the Finnish charts. Petri Lindroos
Petri Lindroos (born 10 January 1980) is a Finnish heavy metal musician. He has been the lead vocalist/ harsh vocalist and a guitarist for Ensiferum since 2004. In 2023, he joined Warmen in the same role. He was also a founding member of Norther, playing with them from 1996 to 2009. Biography Petri (also known as "Pete") Lindroos was born in Espoo. At 14 years old, he began to play the guitar. In 1996, he founded the melodic death metal/power metal band Norther with drummer Toni Hallio. In 2004, he joined the folk metal band Ensiferum as lead vocalist and continued to perform and record with Norther until March 2009, when Norther's website announced his departure from the band to focus more on his duties with Ensiferum. Finnvox Studios
Finnvox Studios is a recording studio located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland. It was founded by Erkki Ertesuo, Kurt Juuranto and Lejos Inc. in 1965 and is the longest running studio recording facility in Finland. The original multi-track recording equipment and continuous technical updates of the studio machines and acoustics soon made Finnvox the most sought after studio in the country. Finnish artists that recorded at Finnvox in the 1970s include Rauli Somerjoki, M. A. Numminen and their bands, Wigwam, Agit-prop and many others. Up until the 1990s, Finnvox also operated a vinyl record mastering and pressing facility, which was later converted to new studio rooms and a mixing and recording room for film and TV productions. Toni Hallio
Toni Hallio is the former drummer for and one of the founding members of melodic death metal band Norther. He left the band in October 2005 to pursue other interests. David Ellefson
David Ellefson is an American musician, best known for his long tenure as the bassist and backing vocalist for thrash metal band Megadeth across two stints. Ellefson initially became an accomplished bassist and honed his songwriting skills while leading several of his own bands through the club scene of North America's Midwest region before relocating to Los Angeles. He was then the bassist of Megadeth from 1983 to their breakup in 2002, and again from 2010 to 2021. Kristian Ranta (born 13 May 1981), also known as Kride, is a Finnish former musician. He was a guitarist and vocalist for the melodic death metal band Norther until their breakup in 2012. Career Ranta composed most of Norther's best-known songs, including "Frozen Angel", and is also credited for renaming the band, which was originally called Requiem. Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal).
