Dean Windsor
Dean Windsor (born 9 September 1986 in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian professional racing cyclist who is known internationally as a criterium rider. Riding on the Track as a junior Dean Windsor won the Under19 Oceania Points Race Championship at Wanganui, NZ in 2004. Then focused on Road Racing winning the National U23 Criterium Championship, in 2007 at Brisbane. Then in 2010 was runner-up in the Australian Elite Criterium Championship at Ballarat. In 2011 he was runner-up in the British Elite Circuit Series behind then Rapha Condor-Sharp Team mate Dean Downing which included a win in the Stafford GP. Outside of racing, Windsor is a qualified primary school teacher having studied primary education at Charles Sturt University. The Shropshire Star Newport Nocturne is Britain's first flood lit road bicycle race and is biennially held in Newport, Shropshire. The race was first run in 1970 at a distance of . The Shay Elliott Memorial race is a one-day road cycling race held in spring in Ireland. It is run in honour of Ireland's first professional cyclist, Seamus Shay Elliott. The Bay Classic Series (currently running as the Lexus of Blackburn Bay Crits) is a road cycling race held annually in and around Port Phillip Bay in Victoria, Australia. The race consists of both a men's and a women's competition over three stages. The men's stages are approximately one-hour criteriums (45 minutes plus 10 laps) with three sprints at 15-minute intervals. The women's stages are approximately 45-minute criteriums (30 minutes plus 10 laps) with two sprints at 15-minute intervals. Points are awarded to the first 10 riders at the finish (12, 10, 8 to 1).
