Dean Elliott
William Lorenzo Bunt (May 11, 1917 – December 31, 1999), known professionally as Dean Elliott, was an American television and film composer. Career Elliott was born William Lorenzo Bunt on May 11, 1917, in Sioux City, Iowa to George Leroy Bunt and Odessa Rouine Bolyard. Educated at the University of Wisconsin, Elliott's first composing work was for '' Four Star Revue'' an early comedy program which debuted in 1950. From here, he went on to compose for various cartoon series, most prominently '' Mr. Magoo'' in the 1950s, but later he struck an alliance with master Animation director Chuck Jones and went on to compose the scores for many of his ''Tom and Jerry'' cartoons between 1965 and 1967, starting with '' Duel Personality'' and finishing with '' Advance and Be Mechanized'', Chuck Jones' second-to-last ''Tom and Jerry'' cartoon in 1967. ''Zounds! What Sounds!'' is an album by Dean Elliott, released as an LP album, LP in 1962 in music, 1962. The album was credited on the front cover to "Dean Elliott and His Swinging Big, Big Band" and on the LP label to "Dean Elliott and His Orchestra". The album was made with the assistance of Phil Kaye, a sound effects virtuoso who worked with Elliott on the Tom and Jerry cartoon The subtitle that appeared on the front cover of the LP (which also featured three young women striking arguably sultry poses with saxophones and congas atop a cement truck) captured the basic goals, sound, and feel of the album quite well: A Sonic Spectacular Presenting MUSIC! It premiered on September 9, 1978 and ended on November 10, 1979, with a total of 24 episodes over the course of 2 seasons. The executive producers were Joe Ruby and Ken Spears. Ruby-Spears Productions (also known as Ruby-Spears Enterprises) was an American entertainment production company founded by veteran writers and '' Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!'' creators, Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, in 1977, before closing in 1996.
