Dead!
Dead!, sometimes stylised as DEAD!, were an English hard rock band. Comprising Alex Mountford, Sam Chappell, and brothers Louis Matlock and Sam Matlock, the band formed in Southampton in 2012 but moved to London by June 2016. They released the 2018 album '' The Golden Age of Not Even Trying'', which charted at No. 11 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart and received generally positive reception, before splitting up shortly afterwards. History Dead! comprised Alex Mountford, Sam Chappell, Sam Matlock, and Louis Matlock. The Matlocks are the sons of Glen Matlock, the bassist for the Sex Pistols. Sam told CM Kavanagh of ''The Edge'' that the band's name came from a folder of songs labelled "Dead", which he had compiled in case he was hit by a bus. The exclamation mark was added because the band were fans of the punk band Dangerous!. The Golden Age Of Not Even Trying
''The Golden Age of Not Even Trying'' is the first and only studio album by English punk rock band Dead!, released on 26 January 2018 under Infectious Music Ltd. and BMG. It was produced by Charlie Russell and mixed by Thomas Mitchener. The group announced their split on 5 June 2018, cancelling their summer tour dates and announcing that their final show would be their sold-out show on 5 October at The Underworld in London. Two singles were released to promote the album prior to release, with accompanying music videos: "Enough Enough Enough" and "Up for Ran$om". The band also released a music video for the title track on 6 October 2017. The promotional single "You're so Cheap", a song from the album originally released in 2016, was released on 16 April 2018 along with two B-sides. Sam Matlock
Sam James Matlock (born 16 March 1993) is an English guitarist and singer. He formed the rock band Dead! in 2012 and entered the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart with that band's ''The Golden Age of Not Even Trying'' in 2018; after they split up, he recruited musician Milkie Way for his own band named Wargasm, which launched in August 2019 and entered the UK Albums Chart in 2023 with ''Venom (Wargasm album), Venom''. He has also co-written the Bambie Thug song "Doomsday Blue" and played live with Jamie Lenman. In November 2021, he attracted press attention after being assaulted at Scala (club), Scala by security guards, who were subsequently fired. Milkie Way
Rachel Alexandra Hastings (born 9 December 1997), known professionally as Milkie Way, is a musician from Northern Ireland. Born in County Antrim, she moved to London to study at the London College of Fashion and spent time as a model and a concert photographer. She and Sam Matlock formed Wargasm in August 2019, and their mixtape and album ''Explicit: The Mixxxtape'' (2022) and ''Venom'' (2023) peaked at number 19 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart and number 88 on the UK Albums Chart respectively. Hastings also played bass guitar as a session musician for Barns Courtney and Yungblud and featured on Trash Boat's 2021 single "Bad Entertainment" and Gunship's 2023 single "Monster in Paradise". Wargasm
Wargasm (stylised in all caps and sometimes known as Wargasm (UK)) are a British electronic rock duo from London. The band was formed in 2018 by Sam Matlock, who had previously performed as part of Dead!, and Milkie Way, who had previously photographed their concerts. The band released several standalone singles before making headlines in 2021 over an incident after a performance at Scala. Glen Matlock
Glen Matlock (born 27 August 1956) is an English musician, best known for being the bass guitarist in the original line-up of the punk rock band the Sex Pistols. He is credited as a songwriter on 10 of the 12 songs on the Sex Pistols' only officially released studio album, '' Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols'', although he had left the band early in the recording process, credited as bassist and backing vocalist on only one song on the album, " Anarchy in the U.K." However, on the bootleg album '' Spunk'', Matlock played bass on all the songs, which included earlier studio recordings of 10 of the 12 songs that later appeared on the ''Bollocks'' album.
