De Wever Government
The De Wever government is the incumbent federal government of Belgium after the 2024 Belgian federal election. On 31 January 2025, a final agreement was reached between New Flemish Alliance, N-VA, Christian Democratic and Flemish, CD&V, Vooruit (political party), Vooruit, Reformist Movement, MR and Les Engagés to form a so-called "Arizona coalition", named after the colours of the Flag of Arizona, Arizona state flag. The new government is led by Bart de Wever, who is the first Flemish Movement, Flemish-Nationalist Prime Minister of Belgium. Bart Albert Liliane De Wever (; born 21 December 1970) is a Belgian author, historian and politician who has served as the Prime Minister of Belgium since February 2025. From 2004 to 2025, De Wever had been the leader of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA), a political party advocating for the transformation of Belgium into a Confederation, confederal state. The Flemish Movement (, ) is an umbrella term which encompasses various political groups in the Belgium, Belgian region of Flanders and, less commonly, in French Flanders. Reformist Movement
The Reformist Movement (, , MR) is a liberal French-speaking political party in Belgium, which includes social-liberal and conservative-liberal factions. Stemming from the Belgian Liberal Party founded in 1846, the MR is one of the oldest parties on the European continent. Since October 2014, the party has provided two prime ministers: Charles Michel and Sophie Wilmès. It has been a member of every federal government since the 2000s. Vooruit (, Dutch for Forward) is a Flemish social democratic political party in Belgium. It was formerly known as the (Flemish) Socialist Party (1978–2001: ''Socialistische Partij'', SP; 2001–2021: ''Socialistische Partij Anders'' , , SP.A) until 21 March 2021, when its current name was adopted.
