'' De Dans van de Reiger '' is a 1966 Dutch film directed by Fons Rademakers. It was adapted by Hugo Claus from his play of the same name. Plot The rich and conservative Edward can not forgive his younger wife who had been unfaithful. She's trying to get his attention by flirting with a Dutch tourist. Fons Rademakers
Alphonse Marie "Fons" Rademakers (5 September 1920 – 22 February 2007) was a Dutch actor, film director, film producer and screenwriter. His 1960 film '' Makkers Staakt uw Wild Geraas'' was entered into the 11th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear Award. During a career spanning several decades he directed 11 films, including '' The Assault'', which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1986, and '' The Village on the River'', nominated for the same award in 1959. Making him both the first Dutch director to be nominated and win this award. He granted a wide-ranging interview to Radio Netherlands in 1987. He died in 2007 in a Geneva hospital of emphysema, after the life-support machines were switched off at his request. Hugo Maurice Julien Claus (; 5 April 1929 – 19 March 2008) was a leading Belgian author who published under his own name as well as various pseudonyms. Claus' literary contributions spanned the genres of drama, the novel, and poetry; he also left a legacy as a painter and film director. Gunnel Lindblom
Gunnel Märtha Ingegärd Lindblom (18 December 1931 – 24 January 2021) was a Swedish film actress and director. Career As an actress, Lindblom was particularly associated with the work of Ingmar Bergman, though in 1965 she performed the lead role in '' Miss Julie'' for BBC Television. She also played the key role of The Mummy in Bergman's staging of Strindberg's ''The Ghost Sonata'' in 1998–2000, a performance that earned her much critical acclaim. She appeared on stage as Tintomara's mother in Carl Almqvist's play ''Drottningens juvelsmycke'' (English: ''The Queen's Tiara''), staged at Dramaten for the theatre's 100-year jubilee in 2008. Jean Desailly (24 August 1920 – 11 June 2008) was a French actor. He was a member of the Comédie-Française from 1942 to 1946, and later participated in about 90 movies. Life and career Desailly studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts and the Conservatoire de Paris winning first prize, joining the Comédie-Française in 1942. In 1946 he became a leading member of the Jean-Louis Barrault- Madeleine Renaud company at the Théâtre Marigny, playing in a wide repertoire from ''Les Fausses Confidences'', '' Bérénice'' and '' Le Songe d'une nuit d'été''. With the Renaud-Barrault at the Odéon-Théâtre de France he played both leading roles in ''le Mariage de Figaro'': Figaro on tour in the provinces and Count Almaviva in Paris.
