DeWayne Carter
DeWayne Carter (born December 10, 2000) is an American professional football defensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Duke Blue Devils. Early life and high school Carter grew up in Pickerington, Ohio and attended Pickerington Central High School. He was named All-Metro Team Defensive Player of the Year by ''The Columbus Dispatch'' after finishing his senior year with 83 tackles with eight being for a loss, and five sacks. Carter committed to play college football at Duke. College career In Carter's first season he recorded just one tackle versus Alabama. In 2020, he tallied 11 tackles with 2.5 going for a loss, and a sack, along with one reception for 11 yards. Carter had a career performance in week three, tallying three tackles, one sack, and two forced fumbles in Duke's win over Northwestern. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that typically lines up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the Guard (American football), offensive guards; however, he may also line up opposite one of the offensive Tackle (gridiron football position), tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. The 2019 Alabama Crimson Tide football team represented the University of Alabama in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This was the Crimson Tide's 125th overall season, 86th as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and 28th within the SEC's Western Division.
